Healthy Weight for Your Height: BMI Chart for Men and Women

Your healthy weight depends mostly on your height. This guide gives you the BMI-based weight range for every height from 5'0" (152 cm) to 6'4" (193 cm), separately for men and women, plus context on why the ranges are wide.

How the chart is built

Healthy weight range = BMI 18.5–24.9 multiplied by heightΒ² (in meters). Anything in that range is statistically associated with the lowest risk of weight-related disease for adults 20–64.

Women: healthy weight by height

5'0" (152 cm) = 43–58 kg (95–128 lb) Β· 5'2" = 46–62 kg (101–136 lb) Β· 5'4" = 49–66 kg (108–145 lb) Β· 5'6" = 52–70 kg (115–154 lb) Β· 5'8" = 55–74 kg (122–164 lb) Β· 5'10" = 58–79 kg (129–174 lb).

Men: healthy weight by height

5'6" (168 cm) = 52–70 kg (115–154 lb) Β· 5'8" = 55–74 kg (122–164 lb) Β· 5'10" = 58–79 kg (129–174 lb) Β· 6'0" (183 cm) = 62–84 kg (137–184 lb) Β· 6'2" = 66–89 kg (145–195 lb) Β· 6'4" = 70–94 kg (154–207 lb).

Why the range is so wide

Across a single height, a healthy weight spans roughly 15 kg / 33 lb because BMI 18.5 and 24.9 are both 'normal'. Body composition (muscle vs fat), bone density and frame size decide where in the range you sit.

When BMI misleads

Muscular athletes routinely exceed BMI 25 with single-digit body-fat percentages. Older adults sometimes fall below BMI 22 with sarcopenia. Always combine BMI with waist circumference: under 94 cm (men) / 80 cm (women) is the low-risk zone.
