Cooking Measurements: Complete ml, Cup, Tbsp Chart (2026)
One printable reference for every kitchen measurement: cups, millilitres, tablespoons, teaspoons, grams and ounces — plus the US/UK/Australian differences that ruin recipes.
Volume master table
1 US cup = 236.59 ml · 1 metric cup = 250 ml · 1 UK/imperial cup = 284.13 ml · 1 US tbsp = 14.79 ml · 1 AU tbsp = 20 ml · 1 tsp = 4.93 ml · 1 fl oz (US) = 29.57 ml · 1 pint (US) = 473 ml · 1 quart = 946 ml · 1 gallon = 3.785 L.
Cup fractions in ml
1/8 cup = 29.6 ml · 1/4 = 59.1 · 1/3 = 78.9 · 1/2 = 118.3 · 2/3 = 157.7 · 3/4 = 177.4 · 1 cup = 236.6 ml.
Spoon conversions
3 tsp = 1 tbsp · 4 tbsp = 1/4 cup · 8 tbsp = 1/2 cup · 16 tbsp = 1 cup. An Australian tablespoon is 4 teaspoons, not 3 — the single most common recipe error.
Weight vs volume for dry goods
1 cup flour ≈ 120 g · sugar ≈ 200 g · brown sugar (packed) ≈ 220 g · butter ≈ 227 g · rice ≈ 185 g · rolled oats ≈ 90 g. Volume is unreliable for flour; weigh it when baking.
Oven temperature quick chart
150 °C = 300 °F (gas 2) · 180 °C = 350 °F (gas 4) · 200 °C = 400 °F (gas 6) · 220 °C = 425 °F (gas 7) · 230 °C = 450 °F (gas 8).
Scaling a recipe safely
Scale ingredients linearly, but not time or seasoning. Halve a bake and cut time by roughly 25%, not 50%. Salt and spices scale to about 75% of the linear amount.
