US, UK and EU clothing sizes differ by fixed offsets — once you know them, shopping internationally stops being guesswork.

Women's clothing

US 0 = UK 4 = EU 32 · US 2 = UK 6 = EU 34 · US 4 = UK 8 = EU 36 · US 6 = UK 10 = EU 38 · US 8 = UK 12 = EU 40 · US 10 = UK 14 = EU 42 · US 12 = UK 16 = EU 44. Rule: UK = US + 4, EU = US + 32.

Men's clothing

Men's US and UK sizes are the same for suits and shirts (chest in inches). EU = US + 10: US 38 = EU 48, US 40 = EU 50, US 42 = EU 52.

Women's shoes

US 6 = UK 4 = EU 36.5 · US 7 = UK 5 = EU 37.5 · US 8 = UK 6 = EU 38.5 · US 9 = UK 7 = EU 40 · US 10 = UK 8 = EU 41. Rule: UK = US − 2.

Men's shoes

US 8 = UK 7 = EU 41 · US 9 = UK 8 = EU 42 · US 10 = UK 9 = EU 43 · US 11 = UK 10 = EU 44.5 · US 12 = UK 11 = EU 46. Rule: UK = US − 1.

Measure instead of guessing

Bust, waist and hip in cm beat any size label. Women's UK 12 ≈ 91 cm bust, 74 cm waist, 99 cm hip; sizing charts vary between brands by a full size.

Vanity sizing warning

The same nominal size has grown 3–5 cm in the waist since the 1990s at many retailers. Always check the brand's own centimetre chart before ordering.
